Jeroen Roose - “Naïve T cells are not so dormant” (Tonic mTOR signals and immune-tuning)
Max Planck Special Guest Lecture Series

The Roose laboratory strives to mechanistically understand how altered cell fate signals cause development of diseases such as autoimmunity and cancer. Our goal is to understand the mechanism of activation of the small GTPase Ras by Ras exchange factors, understand the Ras-effector kinase pathways, comparing normal physiology with pathology.
There are three main directions in the lab:
- The role of T cells in autoimmune disease
- Leukemia versus normal bone marrow homeostasis
- Epithelial stem and progenitor cells and cancer
