The title of Prof. Fan's talk, who is currently the Harold Hodgkinson Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Yale University and a Professor of Pathology at Yale School of Medicine, is to be announced. SGS: Craig Mello - RNAi: A Molecular Spark in an Information Inferno

Max Planck Special Guest Lecture Series
The American biologist and professor of molecular medicine at the UMass Chan Medical School, Craig Mello, will give a seminar in the lecture hall of the MPI. Craig was awarded the Nobel Prize for Physiology and Medicine in 2006 for the discovery of RNA interference and research on the models of how genes get silenced by double-stranded RNA. [mehr]

SGS: Sun Hur - Nucleic acid-induced self-assembly – foreign nucleic acid sensors and beyond

Sun Hur joins the Max Planck lecture series. She will give an insight into her research on self- and non-Self RNA Discrimination in innate immunity. Dr. Hur is a professor of biological chemistry and molecular pharmacology and the Oscar M. Schloss Professor of Pediatrics at Harvard Medical School and is a senior investigator in cellular and molecular medicine at Boston Children’s Hospital.
